Ex-Mormon Testimonies
I was glancing through a testimony by Jerry Stokes, and he quoted 2 outstanding verses from the bible from the new testament. One bible study helped change his life. Take note that he was on his way to leadership in the Mormon church at the time, but it doesn't matter how much a person knows, or what their title is when it comes to God's word, for it is the power of God unto salvation. I encourage you to visit his page at the following link. http://www.godandscience.org/cults/stokes.html#N29AzNAT29w7
James K. Walker is another soldier for Christ who shared his testimony of receiving God's grace upon him when he knelt down to pray one day. Prior to his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his only means of salvation and righteousness, he was an ordained minister within the Mormon ministry. He claimed that he received the laying-on-of-hands. He was proud of his good works at one time, but came across 2 very life-changing verses in the bible. To find out what they were, I encourage you to visit his page at the following: http://www.godandscience.org/cults/walker.html#NbBohytUuyf4
I want to give you a little description of the Apostle Paul's attitude towards his ministry. With the background he had had, it was natural for the Apostle to have a fervent desire for the salvation of his own people. He even went so for as to declare: "I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen by race" (Rom 9:3). All the greater, then, was his grief at their adamant refusal to recognize God's chosen Messiah. Well, there is a woman by the name of Roxanne Johns whose love and concern for her kin are somewhat similar in that it hurts her that 3 of her brothers went from Mormonism to agnostic. Do we as Christians have unsaved family members likewise? Yes, we do. And she gives her testimony about the experience. http://www.godandscience.org/cults/roxanne_johns.html#CfcxHDXIkW7D
Where God is there is hope, and Roxanne still has hope for her brethren. As proof, there is a young man who left Mormonism, and even became an Atheist before converting to Christianity. He goes by the name of Darlington. And there are many more testimonies like this one posted on the following site: http://www.4mormon.org/ex-mormon.php
Jack Kettler is another Christian who has left Mormonism after discovering the truth that salvation and living is all of God's working in mankind, and that there is no boasting of merit on man's part. He explains that predestination was God's will toward man, and not our will, thus God chose us, we didn't choose him. Read more here: http://www.contra-mundum.org/essays/kettler/jk_morman.pdf
